Brain Imaging Facilities
The laboratory has access to advanced neuroimaging facilities at the University of Florida’s McKnight Brain Institute, providing opportunities to investigate brain structure, function, metabolism, tissue mechanics, and neural connectivity. These resources support interdisciplinary research in brain injury, aging, neurological health, neurorehabilitation, cognitive neuroscience, human performance, and subject-specific computational modeling. The laboratory also has a collaborative Memorandum of Understanding with Mayo Clinic, enabling the use of specialized magnetic resonance elastography (MRE) and magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) protocols. MRE can be used to assess the mechanical properties and stiffness of brain tissue, while MRS provides information about brain metabolites and neurochemical changes associated with injury, disease, aging, and recovery. Neuroimaging data can also be integrated with EEG, fNIRS, biomechanical measurements, and other physiological signals to support comprehensive multimodal investigations.
