Exoskeleton Research Platform
The laboratory is developing an advanced exoskeleton research platform to support the design, prototyping, testing, and evaluation of next-generation wearable robotic systems. The platform will enable researchers and students to investigate new mechanical structures, actuation methods, control algorithms, sensing technologies, and human–machine interfaces for upper-limb, lower-limb, and full-body exoskeleton applications. It will also support the integration of EMG, motion capture, force plates, inertial sensors, EEG, physiological monitoring, and computational modeling to evaluate muscle activity, joint loading, movement efficiency, balance, comfort, usability, and user adaptation. The platform is intended to accelerate research in occupational assistance, rehabilitation, mobility enhancement, injury prevention, industrial ergonomics, and human augmentation while providing students with hands-on experience in robotics, biomechanics, mechatronics, control systems, wearable technology, and human-centered design.
