Eye-tracking system

The laboratory is equipped with the Tobii Pro Glasses 2 wearable eye-tracking system (Tobii AB, Stockholm, Sweden) for recording visual attention and gaze behavior during natural, computer-based, physical, and immersive tasks. The system uses four eye-tracking cameras to provide binocular gaze measurements at sampling rates of 50 or 100 Hz, enabling analysis of gaze position, fixation duration, saccades, visual-search patterns, pupil diameter, and predefined areas of interest. A forward-facing scene camera records the participant’s field of view in full HD, allowing gaze data to be overlaid on real-world activities and experimental environments. The lightweight glasses are connected to a portable recording unit and support live viewing and wireless data transmission during mobile studies. Eye-tracking recordings can be analyzed using Tobii Pro software and synchronized with EEG, fNIRS, virtual reality, motion capture, physiological monitoring, and task-performance measurements. The system supports research in firefighter training, hazard identification, situational awareness, driving, occupational safety, cognitive workload, fatigue, usability, decision making, rehabilitation, and human–computer interaction. Tobii now classifies Pro Glasses 2 as a discontinued model, but it remains supported by compatible versions of Tobii Pro Lab.
