Force Plates
The laboratory is equipped with the AMTI HPS400600 multi-axis force platform system (Advanced Mechanical Technology Inc., Watertown, Massachusetts, USA), designed for accurate measurement of three-dimensional ground-reaction forces, moments, and center-of-pressure trajectories. Each platform has a measurement surface of 400 × 600 mm (40 × 60 cm; 15.75 × 23.6 in.) and a height of 82.5 mm. The system records six components Fx, Fy, Fz, Mx, My, and Mz, with vertical load capacities of 4,450 N (1,000 lb) and corresponding horizontal force capacities of 2,225 N. With typical center-of-pressure accuracy below 0.2 mm and measurement accuracy of approximately ±0.1% of the applied load, the system is well suited for gait, balance, sports, rehabilitation, occupational biomechanics, material-handling, fall-risk, and exoskeleton research. The platforms can be integrated with motion capture and EMG systems to support inverse-dynamics analyses and estimation of joint forces, moments, and other kinetic outcomes.
