Functional Near-Infrared Spectroscopy System

The Brite MKIII 27-channel functional near-infrared spectroscopy system (Artinis Medical Systems, the Netherlands) is used to non-invasively measure changes in oxygenated, deoxygenated, and total hemoglobin associated with cortical brain activity. Its wearable design allows data collection during seated, standing, walking, and task-based experiments, making it suitable for brain-activation mapping, cognitive workload assessment, fatigue and stress evaluation, neurorehabilitation, motor-task analysis, virtual-reality studies, driving research, and human–computer interaction. The system can also be synchronized with EEG, EMG, motion capture, and other physiological sensors.
